CG too far from the design range

If the CG is well outside the manufacturer's range, what might the remote pilot experience on takeoff?

  • A.The aircraft lifts straight up but the camera tilts
  • B.The aircraft may pitch or roll uncontrollably despite corrective inputs
  • C.Nothing unusual, because the flight controller corrects any CG error completely
Correct answer

B. The aircraft may pitch or roll uncontrollably despite corrective inputs

Why

Flight controllers can compensate for small balance errors, but they cannot create control authority that the geometry does not provide. A grossly out-of-range CG can overwhelm compensation on liftoff.
